Register for Cub Scout Day Camp!

Posted on Jun 19 2021 - 10:07pm

Every summer, Pack 801 scouts have the opportunity to have tons of fun at Cub Scout Day Camp. There are several locations and dates to chose from, but our pack usually does the one at Good Templar Park in Geneva. Dates for this camp are July 19-23 and hours are around 8:30-3:30. The days are packed with great activities like archery, BBs, projectiles, nature, crafts, sports, scout skills and STEM. The camp is open to incoming 1st through 5th graders, and is not limited to only scouts, so siblings and friends are welcome to register, too. Cost is $160 for early bird rate (through 6/28), $175 after that. Non scout participants are $190. The link to register is listed below. Please also register on the pack website so we know who will be there. Don't miss out on this awesome week of fun!

Memorial Day Activities and Signup

Pack 801 will once again be flagging graves of veterans at the Whitney Burlington Cemetery at 10am on Saturday, May 29. Christine Brauer, local Campton Hills historian, has invited the son and wife of a WWII veteran to give a short presentation about their father/husband.

If you can help with this important tradition, please wear your Class A uniform and bring brooms, dust brushes and other tools to tidy up the grave markers.

We will be doing a very small sunrise flag raising on Monday morning, 5/31, at 6am and need a couple volunteers for the ceremony and reading. Please sign up if you would like to participate for either event and how many would show up per Family.

Looking for Adult Leaders & Volunteers

Posted on May 8 2021 - 9:32pm

Hello Scouting Families!

It's that time of year when we start looking for and recruiting adult leaders and volunteers. We have a great year-long program made possible by all of our leaders and parent volunteers. In February, our Arrows of Light have crossed over to Boys Scouts, and with them 3 amazing adult leaders and volunteers. We are thankful and lucky to find new adult volunteers to lead our STEM Program (Steve Thunder) and Hiking Program (Mark Simmons).

Next year, our Webelos will be crossing over in February 2022, and we are going to be losing a few key leaders: Tom Bolster (Cubmaster), Julie Bolster (Service Coordinator) and Marie de Luna (Committee Chair/Photographer). Now is a great time to see how you can help and become pack adult leaders and/or volunteers so we can have you shadow these leaders during the next school year.

The list of all adult leaders and volunteer roles and positions can be found here: How Can I Help as an Adult Leader or a Volunteer?

If you are interested in knowing more details and want to understand the time commitment needed, please talk to any adult leaders. Some roles and positions are simple once a year events and some roles and positions meet monthly.
